FiberLink LLC Completes Transaction with 360networks for Chicago to New Orleans Route Fiber Optic Route.

FiberLink announced today that is has successfully completed a transaction to acquire ownership of multiple dark fiber strands on the Chicago to New Orleans route owned by 360networks. By adding this major piece to its existing network, FiberLink increases its network size to over 2,000 fiber optic route miles covering eight states. The additional network enhances FiberLink’s presence in Illinois while giving it a presence in Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Louisiana as well as massive fiber connectivity to cities such as St. Louis, Memphis, and New Orleans.

Based in Seattle, with other major locations in Butte and Denver, 360networks is a leading provider of communications services in the western U.S. over its wholly owned and operated fiber-optic backbone. 360network’s solid, fiber-optic backbone is built from the ground up for consistent performance over 16,000 route miles. They currently offer a long-haul and metro presence in 40 U.S. markets, with plans to expand coverage in the future.

FiberLink, LLC was formed in 2004 and acquired over 72 strands on 1,160 miles of fiber optic transmission assets extending from downtown Chicago to downtown Denver, connecting such population centers as Davenport/Moline, Iowa City/Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Omaha, Lincoln, St. Louis ans Memphis. FiberLink is currently owned by three independent telephone exchange companies and Anderson Pacific Corporation, a Chicago private investment firm with extensive rural telecommunications holdings. FiberLink’s corporate and sales office is in Chicago, IL and its operations and administration office is in Cambridge, NE.
